Efficiency Evaluation

To evaluate the performance of both the Truncated Ideal Contour (TIC) and the Thrust Optimized Parabola (TOP), the supersonic flow fields are analyzed at the nozzle exit. The exit velocity, exit flow direction, and exit pressure are computed and incorporated into the performance evaluation together with the boundary layer effects.

The resulting efficiency metrics can be exported as a (.txt) file for documentation and further post-processing.

Throughout the entire NozzlePy framework, the flow expansion is assumed to be isentropic. For the TOP nozzle, this assumption introduces inaccuracies in the efficiency evaluation due to the presence of internal shock waves.
