Contour Optimization

NozzlePy's Contour Optimization tool calculates the defining contour parameters of the most efficient Truncated Ideal Contour (TIC) and Thrust Optimized Parabola (TOP). For the TIC Nozzle the optimized parameters are the exit Mach number and the relative truncation lenght. For the TOP Nozzle the optimized parameters are the exit Mach number, the maximum wall angle and the exit wall angle.

The Optimization algorithm calculates the thrust coefficient for a pre-set range of nozzle Parameters, detects the optimal parameters and subsequently iterates over these parameters with increased resolution. All of the optimization parameters are customizable. The efficiency values can be monitored live.

The User can include Boundary Layer effects, Geometric Restrictions as well as the Summerfield flow separation criterion.
